Jim Heafner is a native of Lincolnton, NC. After graduating Cum Laude and receiving an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill, he lived and worked in Aspen, Colorado, NYC, Los Angeles, Baltimore, before returning to Charlotte to settle.

Jim’s first career was fitness. He opened a small store, then grew it into the nation’s largest chain of retail fitness equipment stores, before selling in 1995. Since then, Jim has studied and worked with the financial, personal and legal issues of aging.

Jim’s passion comes from his desire to help people avoid the many financial traps that await unprepared seniors. Personal experience with family members’ challenges with dementia and Alzheimers provides him extra incentive.

In a search for solutions, Jim has studies financial planning, estate planning, Medicaid planning, life insurance strategies and tax planning strategies. Jim is licensed in securities (series 6, 63 & 65), Life and Health, Medicare and Long-Term Care insurance. He is a CSA and works as a Senior Financial Consultant. Jim’s extensive research and study allows him to offer strategies and solutions that are unique and effective. Through his planning techniques, his clients reduce their financial risk, save tax dollars, protect assets from Nursing Home capture and avoid probate.

Jim’s hobbies include tennis, snow and water-skiing, boating and travel.
